Congressman Mark Walker is currently serving as a Special Advisor to the Republican National Committee.

Congressman Walker started his career in finance and, after earning his theology degree, Walker served 16 years as a pastor. In 2014, Walker stepped away from ministry and made a successful run for the U.S. Congress, defeating a host of elected politicians. In 2015, Congressman Walker became the first member in an inaugural term to be elected Chair of the Republican Study Committee (RSC) – the largest caucus in Congress with 160 members and a position previously held by Vice President Pence & Congressman Jim Jordan.

In 2018, Walker was elected as Vice Chair of the entire conference, becoming the highest rated conservative to serve in the top four leadership positions in Congress. Walker is also the last member of Congress to secure a floor vote on a balanced budget amendment and led the House on HBCU initiatives winning the UNCF President’s list award. Congressman Walker served on multiple committees and in 2019, Walker was appointed to ranking member on the Committee on Homeland Security’s Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism’s subcommittee. Walker was co-chair of the bicameral prayer caucus for five years and also won the GOP MVP award as the starting pitcher on the Republican baseball team for the annual charity game.

Congressman Walker was redistricted out of his seat and stepped away from Congress in 2021. Walker ran for U.S. Senate in 2022 and was endorsed by Senators Tim Scott and James Lankford, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Hall of Fame Coach Tony Dungy and more than 200 pastors across North Carolina. He also directed an independent expenditure organization, Win The Courts, in the 2022 election. Under Walker’s leadership, the organization successfully advocated for 2 North Carolina Supreme Court and 4 North Carolina Court of Appeals candidates, aiding each to achieve substantial victories. The result earned a conservative majority on the North Carolina Supreme Court.

In 2024, Walker accepted an invitation from Donald J. Trump to work alongside his campaign for President as a Special Advisor to the RNC, with a focus on faith-based and minority communities.

Congressman Walker and his wife Kelly, a Family Nurse Practitioner and flight trauma specialist, have been married for nearly thirty years and have three children.
